Got hit with my very first wave of comment spam last night. Luckily I was online at the time, so the moment I saw the first one posted I added it’s details to my blacklist. Then I skippled off to bed (skippling being something I do often) and when I woke all there was to do was delete the ones that had come in overnight from my ‘Awaiting Moderation’ queue.
Thinking of installing a few anti-spam plugins since I can’t always be at the computer waiting to catch them, but I’ll have to look a bit deeper into them first.
Comment spam is a disgusting tactic used by advertisers, and I absolutely loathe them for coming up with this. Blogs are supposed to be for private use, not commercial use. And it is high time those spammers realised that.
WordPress has a spam blacklist? Hum…must go find out how to use feature…although at the moment, I don’t need to worry, since those spammers have yet to find me. *knocks on wood*
