Willie and I were in a pet store the other day when we spotted this rodent that looked somewhat like a small capybara. It was completely furless, except for a few tufts on its head.
I went up to purr over it when he wondered over and remarked, “Ew, that’s pretty ugly.”
“Because it’s hairless? Well it does have spots of hair.”
“That hair doesn’t count. Eww…”
I let him go to admire some chinchillas, but what I really wanted to say was, “Well, what do you think we look like then?”
[Edit] Thanks to Malinda, the mystery rodent has been identified. It was a hairless guinea pig, which looked very similar to the top right pic on this page, only with a bit more hair. [/Edit]

i have never seen anything hairless but they do look pretty neat when i saw them on tv. i dont think i have ever heard of a capybara before. i should look it up on the net because now i’m curious. hehe
Was it a NAKED MOLE RAT? Those things are cute. Hairless, lol. Imagine the rodent staring up at us humans and remarking, “Gosh, what the hell are those things, they’re HAIRY!”

Aww the poor thing, there was a hairless rat on pet star earlier this evening. It’s odd when animals are hairless because even though they look strange they’re always cute in unique way. I had to comment as soon as I saw the word Chinchilla in the post. I have 2 (a girl and boy), have had them for about 4 years now. Still no babies yet *sniffs* I can’t go into pet stores anymore, the employees get aggrivated with me. I can’t help myself lmao (i sneak them treats ) Kinda odd that you had a hairless animal and the most furred animal on earth in the same post.. magic no?
Perhaps being hairless for animals would be a little strange because we hardly see hairless animals. As for us… hmm… Humans having one spot of long hair on the head has already been accepted as the norm.

It might be what is known as cotia in Brazil… I’ve also heard that described in the same way.
Well all I know is that I absolutely adore ANY hairless animal! I have two hairless hamsters and I am searching to buy a hairless guinea pig.
