Yesterday was our one year anniversary. We had a great time. No special plans or anything, we just went out and hung out together as we always do. Had a talk about it the day before and we both admitted that we’d rather not have a huge celebration since it’s simply not us.
Had an amusing conversation with him a couple nights ago. We always chat on the phone for a while before going to bed and were being particularly lovey dovey that night. After talking about our relationship and how content we are for a bit we started to whisper good night and sweet dreams to each other when suddenly I started letting out some random grunts (suppressed laughter, although he thought I was choking). He asked me what was wrong and I told him that it’s a good thing I’ve learned to think about what I’m thinking before I say it. He then of course asked what just went through my head and I replied, “Well, if you really want to know, I was thinking that my heart just skipped a beat… But that it could just be because I’m really hungry.”
The carrot cake went well, everyone said it tasted great (I didn’t have any, but it sure did smell wonderful.) A few thought it was a bit dense (I know, carrot cakes are meant to be dense, but I guess here in Hong Kong it’s rare to find anything but fluffy sponge cakes) so I’ve got a chiffon cake in the oven right now to make sure everyone’s happy (citrus, in case you’re wondering ).
Won’t be doing a lot of celebrating for Mother’s Day. My mom’s birthday is in July and since my brother and sister are both coming back to HK for a visit at the end of June we decided to just have a big celebration then. Sunday will probably end up being a relaxed day at home, perhaps with some home cooking or baking

yum, were I live there are only well the specialty is dense cakes. Fluffy cakes are a treat. Hmm..citrus..my favorite..hope those who get your cake appreiciate it.
