Some pics from yesterday of Vicki and I.
Us two by a giant cheese.
I told you it was a giant cheese.
By the Chinese New Year decorations outside Ocean Terminal.
Isn’t she a pretty pixie?
And look who she helped me adopt! Meet Jeremy, the latest addition to my private turtle island.
Also Mel and Steve, my sister and her boyfriend, arrived early this morning. Mel decided to announce herself by jumping all over my sleeping, blanket covered self. Steve decided to announce himself by sticking a camera into my doorway and trying to get a picture of me in La La Land. Aren’t relatives great?

I can’t seem to decide what irritates yet at the same time amuses me more – idiots who send hatemail, or rude idiots who are just plain… idiotic.
Example for the former:
you are such a joke!!
looks like a slut and such lousy layouts.
man! can’t you even improve?
Example for the latter:
u do den IM meh at [nickname]…cuz i would like u 2 make meh a layout foe xanga….wen u get da chance plz email meh bak at [nickname]@yahoo.com ….bye….
The best one though, which I unfortunately didn’t save, was a girl who had entered a web design competition and wanted me to make her the layout for it.
Honestly, I really don’t get people who send e-mails like that. You know it’s a person on the other end right? I don’t care if they’re young. At no age was I ever that rude, and my seven year old sister knows how to spell and be polite.
Where are these people being raised, and why isn’t anything being done about it?

Tomorrow my lovely Vixen will be arriving back in Hong Kong. She’ll only be here for fours days, but what wonderful days they will be. It’s good to see old friends again.
The day after my sister and her boyfriend will be arriving to stay with us for a couple of weeks. Should be fun and crowded! We’ll be a household full of people who all want to lose weight – apparently my sister’s also become a roly-poly oompa loompa (her words).
So I may be absent from here for a while, but I’m sure there’ll be plenty of stories to be told when I return.

A new addition to the Wei family has been born!
He was born yesterday and my dad called me today to tell me the news (they live in New Zealand). Now we have to think of a name… My dad wanted Rohan, but that just makes me think Lord of the Rings. Rowan might be a bit better. Anyone have any ideas? I’ll be getting another call tomorrow for my input.
In case you’re wondering, number of siblings/half-siblings: 8
[Edit] Rowan it is. Rowan Alexander Wei.[/Edit]

You know what? You should tell people you’re ill before you kiss them. I woke up with a terrible sore throat this morning and when I told Willie he replied, “Oops… Probably my fault.”
Having a sore throat doesn’t mean I talk any less though, I just leave out any sounds that hurt. That leaves me with the vowels and w, y, and ng. Suprisingly though, people can still understand me.
Har-har, and check this out:
I helped my little sis make it this morning for a school project of hers. Meant to be a turtle, but since it ended up looking more like a dinosaur we’ll just call it that.
As for my assignment… “WEI Rebecca Lu-Mei, you have successfully submitted your assignment.” Phew! I’ll admit it, I did something incredibly idiotic. I didn’t read the question properly and ended up doing the wrong thing for a few weeks. I realised it yesterday morning and so had to start again from scratch with 48 hours left. Well not completely from scratch, I couldn’t adapt the existing design but I luckily had a few spare ones on my computer so I just edited one of those to use. Then I pulled a ’sit down, shut-up, and do it.’
I am now going to go bask in my completed-ness by bopping around to Red Hot.

I’ve just completed and uploaded Melissa’s new design at Comotized. Take a looksie and send her some love, poor thing has a case of the sniffles right now. The header image changes, so feel free to knock yourself out clearing your cache and refreshing.
Next I have to start thinking of something gorgeous and girlie for Jenny.
Oh no, wait… Next I have a 12 page website due in two days. Well I do actually already have the design for that done, just not the 12 pages of writing. Damn.

Somehow during a chat last night, Willie and I got onto the subject of aromatherapy. I mentioned that I wasn’t allowed to burn oils at home since, being the klutz I am, the family is scared I’ll accidentally set something on fire.
Aromatherapy being a very foreign thing to him, he was confused. “What do you mean burn oils? How do you burn them?”
I replied by describing a generic oil burner. “They look somewhat like caves with small dishes on top. You put the oil in the dish and a tealight candle underneath. Makes everything smell lovely.”
He paused, then let out a loud guffaw. “Oh… I have one of those. I didn’t know what it was for so I used it as an ashtray.”
Hmm…

This looks pretty interesting, Connect 4 Blog Games.
Two bloggers play a game of connect four together by posting their moves in their blogs (either in an entry or the sidebar). The game connects to their sites to check for new moves and updates accordingly.
It may just be a simple game of Connect 4, but the idea’s great – imagine all the possibilities.
Anyone want to have a game? http://beccary.com is your friend.

It’s Super Turtle in her breakfast bowl!
Notes: The white stuff in the water is a cuttlefish bone she just shredded. The food tub is an octagon, explaining why she appears to have two heads. Super doesn’t equal photogenic.
